General Information

Hours of Operations
The center will operate the following hours unless otherwise changed and the parents are notified:
    -   Monday through Friday - 24 hours - 3 shifts. The first shift is from 6am to 3pm. The second shift is from
        3pm to 11pm. The third shift is from 11pm to 7am.

 The center will close in observance of the following holidays:
    -   News Years Ever, New Years Day,ML King, Jr. Birthday, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day,
        July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas
        Eve, Christmas Day and the Day After Christmas.

Ages
The center serves children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.

Nursery/Tumblers/Toddlers Policy
We want to keep your child happy, confident, smart, and healthy. Our module is where we strive to build up small minds into great and amazing characters.

Parents are expected to bring in all disposable diapers, wipes, bottles, infant formula, unopened baby food, and all children are to have 2 pair of change of clothes. All clothes must be labeled with your child's full name.

All of our staff will work the parents on potty training when the child demonstrates that he/she is developmentally ready.

A child will not be permitted to the center; if he/she has a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, ringworm, and/or rash (contagious). A child that has been sent home may return after 24 hours. A child with a fever of more than 100 degrees may return when the fever has been lower than 100 degrees for 24 hours.

Special Needs Children
We accommodates children with special needs.

Daily Sign In
Parents must sign children in and out of his/her class daily.

Attendance and Absentee Policy
We expect your child to attend on a regular basis. We are required by law to notify the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services regarding a child being absent from daycare. We expect the parent to contact us if your child is not attending for any reason. If we do not hear from you, we will place a call to the parent.

Fees are not waived when your child is absent from the daycare. Fees are not affected when the facility is closed. We will announce all scheduled holidays and closing dates.

Meals and Nutrition
Kid's Korner Learning and Development Center participates in the child care food program that provides healthy hot meals and snacks daily.

We offer nutritional USDA approved meals. It is very important for parents to list and inform us in writing of all allergies. Unless we have a medical statement is provided you child will be given milk.

Breakfast is served from 8:00am to 8:30am
Lunch is provided from 11:30am to 12:30pm
Snack is served from 2:30pm to 3:00pm
Supper is served from 5:00pm to 5:30pm

Personal Items/Toys
We are not responsible for any valuable items that your child may wear or bring to the center. Parents please be mindful that your child will play hard, they will paint, play in water and sand (weather permitting) and other age appropriate activities.

Toys from home are not permitted unless requested by the child's teacher.

Before and After School Care
Kid's Korner Learning and Development Center offers before and after school care for our school age children. Call our office at 423-702-5264 for specific information.

Summer School Programs
During the summer Kid's Korner Learning and Development Center plays special activities for school aged children up to age 12. Call us at 423-702-5264 for more information.

Emergency Policy
Kid's Korner's staff is trained to handle minor emergencies. There will be a trained staff in CPR and First Aid. Parents will be notified immediately if your child has a need to be transported to the hospital. In the event the parent cannot be reached, your child will be transported to T.C. Thompson Hospital. The child's signed enrollment form gives us authorization to transport your child in the case of an emergency. Accident reports are filled out for all accidents. A copy will be given to the parent and a copy will be filed at the center.

Medication Policy
Kid's Korner will never give over the counter medication of any kind (aspirin, cough medicine, etc.). The parent and family physician must authorize the dispensing of all medication. Prescription medication must be in its original container. All medication must go through the Director or Assistant Director for approval.

Parents or guardians must sign a Medication Log Form, before medication is administered.

Discipline Policy
Kid's Korner has a non-violent discipline policy. All staff personnel are trained to the appropriate methods of discipline. At Kid's Korner it is never acceptable for a caregiver to threaten, scream, strike or curse a child. We believe in talking and redirecting children on a right path.

Visitors
All visitors must sign in and out of the center.

Convicted sex offenders will not be permitted on the premises. Parents must sign his or her child in or out at the door. Your child will be brought to you.
